This walk turned out to be, much better than I'd been anticipating before setting out on it. Certainly the first three days, which I completed in a long weekend were. These were truly beautiful and a wonderful discovery of a part of the world that I didn't know very well. After a couple of fairly bland days, but nevertheless pleasant enough, the last day became more beautiful again. I completed the whole distance of 93 miles in the three months of autumn 2004, a fairly short time for me and hopefully the beginning of a future trend in long distance walking!

I used the Official Guidebook to find my way, as I'd been told that the route was fairly poorly waymarked, but in reality I didn't find this to be a problem. The Guidebook is not easily available to buy online, which is rather a shame. It IS available by post from Staffordshire County Council. I obtained my copy by ringing the Rambler's Association Bookshop. Details of which are available on their webpage.
